Is it considered sacrilegious to trim a NATO strap to the proper length?

It’s your strap, but the idea for these is they’re long enough to be worn OVER clothing/coats/etc. If tucking it back under itself bothers you, slice it off man.

I had not thought of that. My Submariner band has an expansion chinga for wearing it over a wetsuit. It hasn't bothered me thus far so I'll see how it goes

Unlike @Omega Watch Guy I did not ask permission to buy my Sangin x FE so my wife was surprised when I got home yesterday. She really likes it and says it looks great on my wrist. I agree

Man I wish I asked, I just assumed I clicked the wrong size and trimmed it down. Big regrets. I ordered another expedition strap but I’m now sad that I’ve ruined the original. Oh well, it’s something I’ll laugh at myself about whenever I look at it now.

Mine says it's still in limbo due to a weather eventPretty sure my Chesapeake Bay Leather Rhodesian strap comes in tomorrow, after sitting in limbo the last 5 days at Dulles.

Just got my RWatchCo band and installed it.
Pros: PVD coated hardware; gorgeous pattern; soft but strong-feeling nylon - seam stitching is nice; inexpensive; installs easily without having to remove bars.
Cons: strap uses thinner and shorter nylon than the Sangin factory (Zulu Alpha) strap - on my wrist it hangs about an inch past the second keeper, not quite enough to fold back under itself easily; the keepers seem a touch tall for a strap this thin.
EDITED: I’m not sure how well a watchband compass will go on this strap being so thin. You might have to use some sort of spacer depending on the compass.

100% agree with your assessment. I got just enough to fold under but I'm not very impressed. It'll do til the Chesapeake leather one shows up
