Sauer 100 Exception
Field Ethos set out to create something much more the sum of its parts. A true adventure rifle, built for Africa and beyond. To get everything we wanted out of this unique build, we turned to Sauer. The result — the Exception.
We can talk about the walnut and blue, the red recoil pad. It comes Africa-correct with iron sights and a barrel-banded sling stud. But the first head-turning feature on this killer is the caliber, chambered in 9.3×62.
A throwback to be sure, it delivers effective performance out to 400 yards. From early German settlers to modern safari, this cartridge still packs a mean punch.
The Exception takes the venerable Sauer 100 and improves it to a true safari rifle. An FE-marked magazine baseplate marks our seal of approval. Everything about this rifle was chosen and executed to kill dangerous game.
This video chronicles the initial testing of the Exception on location in Namibia. While the rifle is built for safari, everything wearing the FE logo is designed for the adventure life. So here’s a look into ours.
