They have some good offerings like Royal Salute and sometimes only option internationally. Probably wouldn’t be my top choice domestically. I like Crown and coke, so maybe don’t trust my opinion.
could Crown being fine in a mixed drink. But neat it's nasty

I don't know why, but I read that as you liking Crown and my opinion of you went down. A lot.

Then I re-read what you wrote, which I often need to do, and saw you were talking about Chivas scotch. I've never had Chivas as I'm usually a single malt snob. I've now added Chivas to my list of scotches to try
It’s not my favorite by any means but it’s nostalgic at this point.

I think Pendleton whiskey is Canadian and I have some good memories with that and the crew from Leupold. That doesn’t mean it tastes good, but it sure did the job.
All right, I'm coming out of the closet 🤣 I drink crown and keep at least a bottle of it on hand because so many guests request it. I also literally drink Pendleton by the half gallon... it's my everyday swill when I'm sitting by the fire in the evening before bed. But then again, I have friends in low places and whiskey is my spirit animal!

This is safe space.

I discovered this "Horse Soldier Old Fashioned" recipe several months ago. Alternatively, I'll drink my Bourbon "neat", or "on the rocks".

2 oz Horse Soldier Straight Bourbon
.25 oz Horse Soldier Maple Syrup
2-3 Dashes Angostura Bitters & Orange Bitters
Garnished with an Orange Peel

I've enjoyed it with Horse Soldier or any decent bourbon. I use a Grade A maple syrup as I've not found the Horse Soldier stuff and probably would not want to pay more for it.

I'm watching my figure, so for beer, I've been drinking the new NA (05% )beers from Athletic Brewing Company and others. My local big box liquor store has 20' of shelf space devoted to these. I've been impressed! These are not the "Near Beers" of old.

Chivas! This was the first scotch I was ever introduced to. I got it as a holiday gift at work. My roommate told me to taste it. I thought it was the worst thing I’ve ever had. Now I love it.

Scotch is straight ass most time. I think I have had a few that were drinkable.

Bourbon is so much better and you get so much more for your $.

Well I have made fun of myself for drinking 7&7 back in college thinking I was fancy. These days I drank way to much bourbon. Most days its neat or a single cube. Some days I still like getting after some Makers and coke.

Two weeks ago I got E-Coli in Turks. I was able to baby myself along the rest of the week going back to my roots drinking crown and sprite. Not going to lie I was a big fan again, good beach drink.

Headed to Cancun Saturday for our son's senior trip. I see a lot of 7&7 ish type drinks in my future next week.

I make maple old fashioneds a lot for myself and friends. Usually use either Knob Creek Smoked Maple bourbon or add about 1/2oz maple syrup to another bourbon if I’m out of that. Otherwise a pretty similar recipe. Love me some maple syrup. One of the only things Canada manages to get right (even though we buy local WV-made maple syrup).

Have you tried a Final Word? Same build style but it's whiskey, Yellow Chartreuse, and lemon instead of lime.
ill be doing that this evening, that sounds great, i dont have yellow chartreuse, its hard enough to find green, ive got like 4 different chartreuse alternatives. some great some not.
