Lazy Saturday plans?

A lot of folks taking it easy this weekend in the US. What do yall have planned? We are finally getting into American Game, and cooking up some game. Y’all take it easy.

With the ice on the road, and we're all out of wild game, we're probably going to settle for pizza and John Wick. And a ton of dry fire, of course.

We are snowed-ish in, and my 2yo son is cooped up so I’ve been issuing laps like he asked permission to buy a watch.

We also made ice cream in the snow.

Thankfully we're north of the storm and the temps just warmed up into the single digits. With this WI heat wave, we're heading out for dinner. John Wick does sound like a good idea after dinner.

Snowed in, in NM today. Just lounging, euro a bunch of hog skulls we shot this week, and made a pork loin from one of them.

Iowa has a 14 day antlerless season that goes until tomorrow. It’s the only time you can use a high power rifle. I have a safe full because I grew up in WI and just because.

Put together a AR-10 6.5 manbun a few years back. Got a new suppressor on Friday so I tossed a scope back on it and sighted it in yesterday.

Took it down to the farm and shot two giant does with it. These are the first deer I have killed with a gun in years. Forgot how easy it is to shoot them with a rifle. Love hearing the bullet impact with a supressor.

Oh man it was 1 degree last night but I could drive right to them. Both shots were text book lung shots but 2-3” high. They were close and shooting down hill so it was fine. I didn’t take pics because it was so cold.

Used these. My son won a shotgun from pheasants forever that he sold and bought a 6.5 it was during Covid and ammo was hard to come by but they had boxes of these stashed that they would sell ya when you bought a gun.

Well, they grouped fine for sighting in and dropped two deer and did not have to go looking for them

Lazy Saturday has transitioned into Lazy Sunday and a snow day Monday with 14” on the ground in Northeast Ohio. Made a pot of venison chili with some cast iron cornbread today. Chef Boy RT was in the house.

Shoveled early and often, braised a venison bone in shoulder, have two loaves of bread prepped to bake tomorrow morning, sledding with the kids, fire ripping all day, got on the C2 row erg for a power hour, working through a Heineken mini keg all in all pretty solid snow day

First episode was good, second was even better. We have reports of some escaped audad starting to populate in our county way more Central TX. Kind of hoping those reports are true would love to see/hunt one on our property.

I also watched the first two episodes of American Game whilst working on a spare parts build. Until I ran out of spare parts and Alps.
