Making 308 sexy again

I agree, if we were autistic enough to care we would probably find 80% of hunting shots occur within 300 or so yards which is where the 308win lives. Yes you can stretch it out and its effective but if we're generally playing a 300 yard game its hard to beat.

308 is boring and free of drama in all the best ways.

I chased the trends for awhile but slowly realized the ‘tism analysis above; and I’d much rather be in the garden or ski slope than chasing pubic-hair MOA changes on new builds.

Loved the FAL I carried for a period of time in the early 90's. But when it came to getting a modern .308, I went with a Q Fix. Still havent shot anything with it yet though..

FAL was my first true .308 love. I agree with you, for a versatile practical rifle, the Fix sets the bar so high. If you can afford it, it’s a must have rifle.

IIRC, it was Ron Spomer who recently said ( in last 2-3 years) the 6.5CM was an industry birth, resulting from a large rifle primer shortages. The "silent professionals" referring to special teams? They pretty much get what they want, BUT sometimes even their ammo delivered is crap. However, there's been a quality gap filled between Barrett, Lehigh Defense, WC, and Buffalo Bore for ammo integrity that's closer to sniping schools and Teams like never before; one shot, one kill is not a niche corner of the market anymore and the R&D is taking place with suppressors. We are blessed to BE IN that Golden Age of...." wtfbh developed this just for me..." levels of Quality. People have brass, and the brass balls are swinging. Target rich environments on every continent. Drive on Brothers!

Spoke to a friend yesterday and 12" 1:5 twist 308 barrel for my Fix will be in the near future. I might have to start playing with reloading soon just for the science of it.

My dad bought me my first deer rifle in 308. Love the thing. It may be a little odd, but I prefer the thump of the 308 versus my sister's 270 or brother's 6.5. The ammo being relatively cheap for someone on a budget and readily available is a bonus.
