Life in Commiefornia can be a drag sometimes, but it's where my entire family is so we make the best of it. I've always loved shooting, the outdoors, and adventure and Field Ethos taught me to combine all those things and go hunting. I'm definitely a novice, but I killed a Wyoming antelope last season for my first big game animal and I'm 100% hooked. Planning on a California hog hunt and a Wyoming cow elk/antelope combo hunt this year. I also am on the waitlist for any of the cull/management hunts that Outrider does.

Something I'm not a novice at is fishing and this year's weather pattern is supposed to be a super El Nino, which should mean insanely good offshore fishing for San Diego. I managed a handful of Bonito on a half-day boat in January, so that's a good omen. Hopefully I get a chance to fool a big tuna or two on some sportboat trips this summer. If anyone is local to Southern California and wants to coordinate a saltwater trip, let me know.

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you have a lot in common with a lot of folks here.. and the classic cars are totally FE related IMO. When I was in the USMC I bought a rusted out 1972 K5 Blazer. When I wasn't on deployments or off training, it was a labor of love for a buddy and I. After a bit we got the body restored, and got it lifted and tricked out, engine rebuilt, and a fresh coat of teal and white paint. We had a lot of fun around Camp Lejeune, NC and up and down the east coast from Myrtle Beach to Virginia. I made a lot of runs to GA too. We called it "Babe the Blue Ox".. if I was in the barracks, on a weekend off seemed like someone was always contacting me needing me to go out in the swamp and pull them out. The attached is a Pic of Chris and I down in NC when we had "weekend" Liberty and were doing some archery hunting with "Babe" in the background!

What great memories. Thank you for your service. I always wanted a '72, I grew up riding around in my grandpa's '72 K5 so I wanted something the same, but different. Can't wait to make those memories with my kids!

As for the Jimmy, it looks nicer than it is. It's about to go in for a full restomod restoration. It wasn't supposed to be a project car, but it sure as hell is. I'd love to do the build myself, but I've got 3 kids under 4 and Run my own business... so it's either let it sit or pay a shop to get it to where I can take the kids to car shows in it. I'm going with the pay to play option out of necessity this time.

Same body, different badges! Even the orange color is the same paint code. Blazer orange was called "hugger orange" (fun fact: it was originally a Camaro only orange) and Jimmy orange was "GMC Red Orange." Same color, different names. Planning to keep the orange and white theme, it's hard to beat. Plus, I'm obviously a sucker for bright colors.
