You and your dad both killed tanks as your firsts. The photos are great. Thanks for posting them.View attachment 2534
Here is my old man's first buck. From a little farm he grew up hunting in West Central Illinois back before deer herds were making noise on TV shows. View attachment 2535
Here is my first buck (age 13) back in around 1997 on our small family farm in West Central Illinois. Shot a doe my first year, button buck the second year and bagged this guy my 3rd year hunting. Was ruined for several years and still haven't bested it.
Dude, that's a hell of a first big game kill and it's great that you still have the bullet. I have the projectile we dug out of my first African kill (blue wildebeest) on my mantle next to a photo of me with the old bull.First big game kill for me. Caribou hunt with my dad and brother in August 2013. Shot it with a Ruger M77 Mark II .243 Win. One shot, heart and double lungs. Still have the bullet, which was trapped on the other side after passing through everything else. It was an awesome hunt.
Still have that Cabela’s XPG 4P tent. Weighs 10 pounds but it’s been through some stuff. My dad wanted to throw up his tarp over my tent on this trip.

I love the old Honda trike! That brings back memories.1981 - Alaska, at the base of Mount Sanford in the Wrangells and alongside the Copper River I killed my first big game animal - a barren ground caribou.
Not a big antlered trophy but I didn't know any better and did what the guide told me - I shot him right on the shoulder at about 100 yards with a borrowed .270

Knobby tracks up the back of your leg....I love the old Honda trike! That brings back memories.
Yup. And I dumped forward a couple times, too. No helmet, no harm - no foul and all fun.Knobby tracks up the back of your leg....
Same here, but, dads rules, no helmet, no boots, no gloves=no toy to ride, he was correct in hindsight.Yup. And I dumped forward a couple times, too. No helmet, no harm - no foul and all fun.
Hahahahah…my cousin and I wiped out a pile of times on one of those, last one was bad enough that my Uncle made us sell them and we got quads.Yup. And I dumped forward a couple times, too. No helmet, no harm - no foul and all fun.
I still have one of Honda's first quad models that came out after those trikes, a TRX 125.. runs like a top and the kiddos love it! I've had it since 1983 I think...Hahahahah…my cousin and I wiped out a pile of times on one of those, last one was bad enough that my Uncle made us sell them and we got quads.
Dave, you just gained a whole lot of cool points!! Those three wheelers were dangerous!1981 - Alaska, at the base of Mount Sanford in the Wrangells and alongside the Copper River I killed my first big game animal - a barren ground caribou.
