Assuming a 2 person family and a bug out cabin pre-positioned with everything you need? And your EMP proof vehicle just needs enough space for 2 people, 3 day bug out bag, a couple weapons, ammo etc.....a 70's 911 or Bronco would likely be my pick. Bronco for a family of 4 and room for a golf bag to the GC in the summer.

This mental exercise is tough, which is likely the point, because you're sacrificing one of the two problems you're solving for with a singular solution. Given you're only 75 miles away, I'm assuming you have a pedal bike contingency plan?
Funny you would say that - I do have a pedal bike contingency plan.

All great suggestions - the easy solution is the land or bronco or old ford - I was thinking something that would also be fun to cruise around in the summer in a non pepper scenario. Cabin is well stocked so don't need to bring provisions with. Road from point a to b is very secondary/rural and highly unlikely of ever being closed down.

The thought on the bug, Porsche or type 3 is only because I have built several beetles from the ground up when I was younger and am very familiar with working on them and they are so simple to fix.

On this line of thinking if you have not read One Second After by William R. Forstchen you should. It is a HIGHLY well thought out book about an EMP strike.
Of course - I have ready the entire "one second after" series - three of four of them I believe?
If people haven't read it they should - it is a really good read

I'm halfway between the all manual land cruiser idea and @jkrispies idea of an old 4x4 truck with a twist. Instead of a truck with a shell, I would consider a 1967-72 era Suburban, preferably the K20 variety for an extra beefy frame and 4x4. Room for the family plus secured cargo, along with 3 doors to be unique. They are also one of the few vehicles from that era with full cabin AC for your summer, non-apocalyptic driving needs. Attached is a sample pic of the suburban from the AMC show "Dark Winds."
I have also looked at them - would be a great suggestion

That's a good looking horse! Is that yours? Very well muscled out and healthy from the picture. I competed in American quarter horse mounted shooting a few years ago... though my current horse/mount roster is at 0.

But in all seriousness, horses are absolutely still an option if someone knows what they are doing.
Considered that as well - have two horses here at the house and the cabin has live water, good pasture and this summer the loafing shed/hay storage will be completed.

Meh, I am staying put unless it is not stopping raining, it is on fire, or the fallout is coming to give me cancer, we have good neighbors in a good town. Only thing worth driving if the SHTF is a Deuce and a 1/2, too much stuff to take with.
I’m also of same mindset. I would rather group against thugs than try and fight a group separately. Also better to join resources than hope you grabbed what you need. That only leads to the path of being a thug and taking what you need from others. Only other reason in my mind to leave is for same reasons you mention. The masses run while the smart likely stay put and defend what they have.

Now on a separate note it’s still fun as shit to build something cool lol.
I have my 68 Land Rover. That old girl leaks but never fails to start and run. She always goes where I point her.

To the original post though, all good vehicle suggestions, if you need to move, you need to move, but, I don't see any modern personal vehicle being useful in a bugout situation, any one of us on here could stop one if we so chose with basic stuff in our inventories, then where are you, on the side of the road and dealing with the folks that stopped your rig.
