Every setup tells a story. The truck, the gear, the way it’s packed. It all says something about how you move through the world.

Show us your rig.
Hunting, camping, overlanding, or just built for the long haul, let’s see what you run and how you’ve made it your own.

Photos encouraged. Bonus points if it’s got some dirt on it.

When I think back to my favorite rigs for the field, I can’t help but remember my tried and true Toyota Land Cruiser LJ78. It was a prime example of when cars were made to last for lifetimes. This Toyota now lives with KB and he’s kind enough to let me drive it whenever I visit.

Since then, I’ve replaced it with a beat up Land Rover Discovery 2. It will handle any trail but I’m certain it will leave me stranded somewhere in the woods at some point because that’s what Land Rovers do best.

And if you haven’t figured it out by now, I have an affinity for vehicles with the aerodynamics of a refrigerator.

I don't have any photos handy but an '03 Excursion with the 6.0. Took me and my trailer to elk camp last year for late hunt, it is a little loud but it pulls well and fits everyone easily. Have a squarebody GMC K2500 which will someday be done with the LS conversion, and I daily a '16 Colorado. Colorado did a fantastic job on a multi day drive to and from elk camp, and is nimble enough I used it to get to some trailheads further from main camp. Long bed with a topper and a bunk I built makes it comfy to sleep in too when I don't want to set anything else up. I'm hoping to add a kei truck at some point, mostly for a UTV which I can drive on the roads here. Maybe the new minitrucks will make it to US production soon.

If anyone gives a shit, here's a link to my build thread: LINK

And I've been rebuilding this 2000 Land Rover Discovery 2

So far I've changed out ALL fluids, installed new brakes, rebuilt the cooling system, added OME suspension, and Falken Wild Peak4 tires. Next up is paint (the hood and roof are shot), front bumper, and roof rack

1995 NAS Defender 90. I’ve had it since 2000 and ridden it hard and put it up wet and she begs for more. I taught 5 kids how to drive a stick in it and it’s survived 3 teen boys! I’m on motor number 3 though. It’s got a Chevy crate motor now with 300hp and is reliable as hell compared to a LR V8. I just finished a full rebuild done by me and my BMW mechanic buddy. I drive it like a red headed step child and don’t dodge bushes or small trees or water. I love it. May get buried in it.

My work in progress. I’ve had this 2016 Power wagon for a few years. She is getting retired from daily duty to my hunting rig. I found a topper for it (which I will have painted blue)and installing a bed slide in it after the holidays. IMG_2900.jpeg

What engine do those have? A guy in town has one but I never get a chance to talk to him about it. I have an old 1968 Land Rover but that’s a whole different world from the newer ones lol.
It’s a BMW 3 liter turbocharged inline six cylinder (B58). I replaced a ‘04 LR Disco II for this. The Disco was great but began to take more and more time away from my outdoor pursuits for maintenance. As the saying goes, “Land Rover: turning owners into mechanics since 1948.”

lol very true. I still have an 04 like you had as well. I always found if I fixed all the little crap nothing major ever seems to break. I have to say my old 68 is actually very reliable. No power house but it always starts and goes where I point it.
