Our Instagram Sunday Q&A is a weekly—or semiweekly depending on JV’s mood that day—chance for you to interact with our team directly. Ask whatever you like; insult us if you please; just don’t go crying about it when JV puts you in your place.
For those of you who are not completely inept, your answers will be swift and educational, leading you to knowledge akin to that of the ancient philosophers who helped drive our species from the Stone Age to modernity. That last part may not be true, but we sure as hell will give you our opinion and help you with whatever problems need solving.
We decided to post these Q&As here so those who had something better to do than look at Instagram on a Sunday afternoon or are dedicated to their craft and actually work Monday morning, can revel in the glory and enjoy some much-needed humor, quality product recommendations, and possible links to Schoby’s OnlyFans page.
*If you are assigned laps, these are not optional—all laps are mandatory and need to be filmed and sent to the Field Ethos Instagram account upon completion. Lap distance is arbitrary; only you know the full weight of your stupidity. Go the distance that feels right.
Q: Did you know walrus penis bones can be 2-feet long (Largest of any mammal)?
A: God had to give those poor bastards something.
Q: How many dogs will be wearing ski goggles in Vegas this week?
A: Anyone who dresses in anything tactical or has a tactical dog at SHOT is to be avoided at all costs. You should be fine as long as you take a wide arc around the Canik and Kimber booths.
Q: Suggestions for a first rifle for whitetail and which caliber?
A: @winchesterrepeatingarms XPR in .308 with a @leupoldoptics VX-3HD.
Q: Scope for a backup/loner rifle in CO? I won a 26-inch 300 WM Kimber in a raffle.
A: First time I’ve ever heard of someone winning and losing at the same time. Trade the Kimber for anything that will actually reliably feed.
Q: Can Trump help us with Quebec independence? We are tired of the monarchy.
A: At the rate things are progressing we’ll make you guys a colony soon enough.
Q: When will FE go hunt some Pablo Escobar hippo? Needs to happen since Jamaica didn’t …
A: First of all, lower your fucking voice. We’ve never allegedly hunted in Jamaica and we don’t even know where it is exactly. Second, maybe.
Q: Is the Apple Watch a man’s watch?
A: Yes. There are plenty of gay men out there that love them.
Q: Where should I get good socks from to go with my new Jim Green boots? Love the boots.
A: Walmart is my go-to for socks and undies.
Q: Hamilton watches?
A: Zero interest.
Q: Will the FE J-frame be tough to get ahold of? As far as availability goes.
A: They’ll sell out fast at @lipseysguns, so have your dealer ready to order as soon as they go live. We’ll give you guys a heads up here in our stories.
Q: When are you releasing Armageddon Gear blind bags?
A: Never.
Q: Why is my new Winkler x FE Sweet T my favorite knife?
A: Because @terry.houin (Alias Sweet T, Alias Terrence, Alias Uncle Terry) designed a perfect do-it-all. @winklerknives

A: Sometime this year. Book 1 has been selling really well.

A: We have a .454 coming out very soon. Just got the prototype.

Q: What do you think of the Meateater brand and its stigma of ignorance?
A: They’re smart but they need Jesus.
Q: Any recs on a good mountain rifle with a collapsible stock?

Q: “American Game” on TCN has been tremendous. How was it hanging with Tucker?
A: He’s always fun to talk to. For those that don’t know, we filmed a six-episode series of hunts in the USA with interviews at the end of each hunt. We’re really happy with the way it turned out. Subscribe to TC to see them.

A: What’s your mom’s favorite result?

A: Absolutely. We wouldn’t miss out on a chance to have the police raid our tent on the show floor in front of God and everybody again. @officialdsc.

A: Hell, they weren’t’ released the first time. We’ll have them by next fall.
Q: Opinion on people who say carrying a J-frame is stupid?
A: They’re only stupid sometimes. It makes sense for certain situations, but not for all. I addressed this in the review of the @smithandwessoninc x FE Tropical. Review will go live this week.
