Questions by not-so-anonymous Instagram users. Answers by Jason Vincent.

Our Instagram Sunday Q&A is a weekly—or semiweekly depending on JV’s mood that day—chance for you to interact with our team directly. Ask whatever you like; insult us if you please; just don’t go crying about it when JV puts you in your place.

For those of you who are not completely inept, your answers will be swift and educational, leading you to knowledge akin to that of the ancient philosophers who helped drive our species from the Stone Age to modernity. That last part may not be true, but we sure as hell will give you our opinion and help you with whatever problems need solving.

We decided to post these Q&As here so those who had something better to do than look at Instagram on a Sunday afternoon or are dedicated to their craft and actually work Monday morning, can revel in the glory and enjoy some much-needed humor, quality product recommendations, and possible links to Schoby’s OnlyFans page.

*If you are assigned laps, these are not optional—all laps are mandatory and need to be filmed and sent to the Field Ethos Instagram account upon completion. Lap distance is arbitrary; only you know the full weight of your stupidity. Go the distance that feels right.

Q: Most appropriate way to mourn the passing of Chuck?

A: If you see someone running today, roundhouse them in the face and hold them until the police get there. Ignore their athletic clothes and running shoes. Stay the course.

Q: Mouth calls, friction, squawk box for turkey?

A: @tonycagg_outdoors has completed multiple illegal slams using a Turtlebox and his phone with pre-loaded calls.

Q: Are non-brass cases the future?

A: Yes, and higher gas prices, groceries and interest rates.

Q: Best way to ask Omega for a fiancée without incurring laps?

A: “The opposite of asking your fiancé for permission to buy an Omega would be demanding that Omega give you a fiancé.” — so sayeth Chuck Norris.

Q: What’s a good starting rifle?

A: Since you left this so vague, the best starting rifle for disabling a troop transport vehicle from 1 mile would be a Barrett 50 caliber. Go run 2 laps.

Q: Rec for a rifle/scope combo under $2,500 for elk and mule deer?

A: Mossberg Patriot in 300 Win Mag with Leupold VX-3HD.

Q: Can we get a Field Ethos cleaning kit?

A: We clean our guns so infrequently we wouldn’t know where to start. Hell, I found a half-eaten ham sammich in the ejection port of Ron’s HiPoint one time. Gun Butter lube is a must though.

Q: We are four weeks into a new Middle East war, taxpayers on the hook for $200 billion already. Is this MAGA?

A: It absolutely is not. I voted for him and I’m still very glad I did, but this chapter sucks. It’s fine to criticize and be pissed but remember the alternative.

Q: Favorite Chuck Norris movie?

A: He was in more movies than just “Delta Force?”

Q: When more FExBFR? I got one and my friend loved so much he wants one!

A: We will have more Magnum Research x FE BFR’s soon. They actually have their own account too — @biggestfinestrevolver.

Q: Does any part of you wish Kamala Harris was in office right now?

A: Are you fucking insane? 365 laps around your house right now.

Q: Best caliber for whitetail on a Q gun platform?

A: .308.

Q: Whatever happened to “drill, baby drill?”

A: It’s on hold while we drop bombs and do the mean tweets about an opponent that just died.

Q: 45-70 hunting ammo for hogs?

A: Barnes Bullets 300-grain TSX.

Q : How many more iterations of Sweet T?

A: A lot. @terry.houin has plenty of grip ideas left in his head.

Q: Best Vietnam rifle to clone?

A: Do a trench 12 gauge instead. … Or just wait for the FE x Mossberg collaboration that’s coming this summer to @gallensonsguns.

Q: Should Trump Omega Watch Guy’s wife to negotiate the Iranian surrender?

A: She’d have those bastards trading their armed Hilux pickup trucks for minivans in less than an hour.

Q: Do y’all have a preferred bipod/bipod system?

A: Spartan Precision. They have all sorts of different options.

Screen-Shot-2025-12-15-at-12.37.06-AM-1024x653.png

Q: How far is a lap, just so we do this correctly?

A: One trip around the exterior of your residence.

Q: IF you were to buy an Omega … which model?

A: 007 Titanium.

Q: I ask about the Gin Shirt every time you have one of these and I never got an answer.

A: Well, you just wasted your shot by not including your original question. And you get 3 laps. The floggings will continue until morale improves.

Q: What’s the mod for the Rossi one shot?

A: Very short barrel. Lots of Krylon spray paint. It’s a trailer park single-shot version of the Mini Fix, so I named it “The Single Wide.” Rossi is going to make them for the whole world to enjoy.

Q: Mossberg Patriot 300 Win Mag? Purchase?

A: Yes.

Q: What is your do-it-all pant?

A: Usually something from Target or Walmart. If I’m being fancy, Kuiu Kutana.

Q: Can FE drive the initiative to get Hilux’s available in the U.S.? Would be willing to donate.

A: Well, we ironed out a solid trade deal with Japan a few months back, but then last week Trump told them to get fucked. So, it may be a lil bit.

Q: Best caliber for long-range shooting and varmint hunting? 22 CM? 6 ARC?

A: 22 Creedmoor is far superior.

Q: Glock 43x IWB holster recs?

A: Blackpoint Tactical.

Q: Favorite extra-rugged folding knife for under $200?

A: Hogue Ballista 1 is VERY heavy duty. Carry one every day.

Q: After 1 year, 9 months and a civil rights lawsuit, I’ve finally gotten my NYC CCL. Rejoice.

A: This calls for a subway desk pop.

Q: Which to buy first—suppressor for my SP5K or first shotgun (Mossberg 590 Retrograde)?

A: Mossberg 590 Retrograde. You’re going to need a bayonet for it.

Q: Best way to kit out an SP5? I’m here for the vibes. Function comes second.

A: SureFire weapon light and an Aimpoint Acro.

Q: RDS for the Mossberg 590A1?

A: EOTech XPS.

Q: Are you guys using MOA or MIL turrets and reticles?

A: Both.

Q: What is the best country to receive a mail-order bride from?

A: No clue, but hopefully another country starts ordering our liberal white women. We should be far more focused on exports.

Q: How to deal with people hating on killing blue marlin in tournaments?

A: Just say “All fish die, not every fish truly lives.”

Q: Recommended first aid kit to keep in your vehicle?

A: Safari Medic. Small business owned by a surgeon who hunts all over the world. They make all sorts of kits.

Q: How’s the INEOS holding up?

A: Just got another one. Going to show some mods on it soon from Leitner Designs. The INEOS Grenadier is awesome.

Q: What are the chances the most epic multi-continent hunting link-up will get completed?

A: I’d say you have a 67% chance of mission success on your fist attempt — @steverokks, @terry.houin.

Q: Any other collabs/drops coming soon?

A: Your fiancé turned wife has asked us to no linger reveal collabs to you. Telling you no is awkward for her. You have the Omega. Be content.

Q: Restock of green and brown colors on the J-frame holster?

A: Brown for sure. Probably will not do a run of green for a while. They were slow movers. I’ve requested hot pink.

Q: Any Special guest appearances for the 4.0 Hosted Safari?

A: The 4.0 Hosted Safari will be led by @the_charlie_benton and @dryflyjohn. Charlie will coddle you when you fail. John will shame you to victory. It’s going to be a bit of a mindfuck.

Q: Best boots for the African bush, comfort, hard wearing, look good…?

A: The new FE x Jim Green Footwear collaboration will disrupt the entire Safari boot market (which is very, very small). African PH’s will be singing songs about them in pubs around the continent.

Q: Audad guide recs?

A: @terry.houin.

Q: Thoughts on Leupold’s new rangefinder binocular BX-6?

A: We’ll be testing them soon. Our only gripe with Leupold rangefinding binos was the lack of a real ballistic engine. This fixes that. The clarity and durability had never been in question. Looking forward to these. It does have the Hornady app that we’ll discuss …

Recently @terry.houin’s Hornady ballistic app updated itself and deleted all of his ballistic profiles. Many hours and lots of $ went into testing to build those profiles. Terry himself actually went ballistic over this massive ballistic failure. Me and @steverokks had to dart him to calm him down. As he was about to fall asleep, I ran my fingers through his hair and whispered, “We never needed an app to tell us .338 ARC is a piece of shot,” and he fell into a peaceful slumber. Anyway, he’s fine now.

The moral of the story is no matter what ballistic app you use, always take screen shots of your data inputs.

Q: Your deer cartridge of choice?

A: 6.5 Creedmoor or .308. Both with silencers.

Q: Full custom vs Gunwerks?

A: A full custom Gunwerks. We’ve never had a single issue with one. All are accurate AF. Their ammo is always very dialed in too. There are so many great long-range riflemakers out there today, but Gunwerks’ consistency is what we value. The only sketchy thing about Gunwerks is @skipdavidson’s casual approach to small aircraft aviation in bad weather.

Q: Rhodie Gin Shirt restock anytime soon? I’m an idiot and shrank mine in the wash.

A: Yes, but yours is not ruined. Get it soaking wet and wear it. It’ll be back to normal. @the_ron_dan wears his when he plays in the sprinkler behind the office on hot days.

Q: How to order those Rhodesian daisy dukes I saw a day or two ago?

A: They’re coming soon.

Q: Are y’all going to do anything else in the Zahir leopard print camo?

A: Oh yes. Many things. Going through a huge 2027 product lineup this week. Full clothing line. Lots of solids. Lots of resurrected camo patterns.

Q: What AR light do you recommend?

A: SureFire every single time. Favorite would be the Scout in a Reptilia mount.

Q: Any thoughts on the Leupold Delta Pro red dot?

A: Have had zero problems with the Leupold Delta Point Pro.

Q: Rifle recs to buy and save to pass down to my son (he’s 1)?

A: Rigby would be at the top of the list.

Q: Favorite books of the bible?

A: Favorites are by Paul. Pretty sure John was on mushrooms when he wrote Revelations. Fun and terrifying read.

Q: Any word on that potential Society get together in the Dallas area?

A: We will do a Dallas hangout soon. We’ll be at @Skyfall Reserve a lot this year and in/outs are via Dallas.

Keep an eye on our Instagram stories each Sunday for a chance to participate and, most likely, be humiliated by our fearless leader, @fieldethos.
