Truck Bed Covers?

I have a new F150 coming in April.

I am looking at the Diamondback covers. They look heavy duty and you can strap stuff to the top of them.

Anyone used them before or something similar?

Where are they made? Probably a good place to start some reccon on.
 
I have one of those Paragon covers as well.... I think it's pretty decent.... It was kind of a bitch to install. I wouldn't put anything heavy on it.. I run those low height billie bar racks over mine, I think that makes a good combo.
 
I have a Diamondback on my 21 Tacoma. I tell my wife I will never have a truck without one again. It's the best. I especially like being able to store gear safely and put stuff on top of like a flatbed. Hell of a good thing to have imo also happy to answer any questions you have about it.

I just bought a new F-150 and I'm also looking at the Diamondback. If I pull the trigger I'll let you know. Still shopping around, but leaning this way.

Please let me know. I think its the more robust than the other one I am looking at but I don't know if I will like the center pivot on how they open.

The F-150 I am getting is a Raptor so I don't think I will be able to open the part closets to the cab and be able to get in there and get stuff out, I am 6'3" so it isn't like I am vertically challenged.

The Paragon allows you to open it back to front all the way but I don't think it is as sturdy, the Diamond looks like a tank.

You will not regret it. When assembling make sure you follow the torque specs. I did not and it leaked. Once everything was torqued correctly it is tighter than a frogs ass.

It’s going to be painted to match my truck color and installed professionally. Hopefully they know to follow torque specs!

I will agree with you, the Paragon is not very sturdy. So far, mine has worked for me for what I use it for. But in my opinion its not a cover you want if you plan on have to retract it all the time. I basically put mine on with the idea that i really wont be opening it often, and I have a low rack over it etc. There are definitely other options out there that are way sturdier and open way easier.

They say you can put up to 400lbs on it or stand on it, is it not that sturdy at least?

I don't open my covers that much so that wont be a problem but I would like to strap a cooler on it when I go on long distance hunts. To confirm is this the one you have?

A wrap is always a good idea, not having to worry about fucking up your paint when offloading or rub up against bushes etc... Post a pic once you get it done.

Will do. The truck goes into production end of March so I am not sure when I will actually get it.

Never had a wrap before but I wanted the flat black so I went with the wrap.
