Just started reading Three Sips of Gin by Timothy Bax. Been meaning to read it for a long time. Plenty more on special operations to mention.

A few other good ones I've read over the years:

The Call of the Wild by Jack London
Touching the Void by Joe Simpson
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
I, Lucifer by Glen Duncan

Probably never get to all the books I should.

Rogue Heroes by Ben Macintyre is a great read (and also the basis for the BBC series). Killing Rommel by Steven Pressfield is a semi-fictional novel from the period that is also extremely good. Crazy what the LRDG/SAS was able to do with so few resources. They might not have invented asymmetric warfare, but they had a damn good time at it.

Started 2026 off by re reading Blood Meridian. Currently co reading Empire of The Summer Moon, and Small Unit Actions During The German Campaign In Russia. After those are closed up I don't know. The theme for 2026 is early frontier and military strategy.
