If you ever want to bullshit on disco’s let me know. Seems like there is always a problem to solve. Mine is a 2001 but I also have a second one that’s purely a parts donor if you ever need something random.
Awesome! Will do. Mine was working so well a few weeks ago, I proposed painting it to my wife. The Disco must have heard because one of the power steering lines shit the bed the next day...

South Florida. My family moved here from New York when I was 3 and I’ve been raised here since. Also did my schooling from elementary school through law school in the South Florida area. It’s home but man I wish we had mountains. LOL.

Hey.
Im John and I did not have the fortune to be born in the USA. I'm from Sweden and I work as a biomedical equipment technician.
Didn't grow up hunting, but always had a fascination with it. We dont have the public land hunting opportunities in Sweden as you americans, but luckily my only neighbor is a farmer, who wants me to hunt his land.
Hi John - welcome to FE Society and the U.S.A. What biomed company do you work for? I was with Medtronic for a few years back in the early 2000's.

My name is Jason. Born and raised in a tiny town in West-Central IL 11 miles off the Mississippi near the tri-state area. Raised/showed horses and ran wild on our little farm growing up before going off to college to play football. Currently live in a small town in Central IL close to the capital of corruption with my wife and 2 young boys (10 and 7), who are finally paying off by giving me more excuses to hunt and fish- 'the boys want to go, so I HAVE to take them'.... Hate this state, tried to leave, but now that the kids have settled in, we'll be here a while and just travel more. When I'm not working, I'm coaching HS football, coaching/chasing the boys' youth sports, and enjoying any available hunting, fishing, or outdoor activity with the family. I get my fix for the mountains on an annual hunt out west with a few college buddies wherever we can grab a tag. Glad to have a place to live vicariously through all your stories in between trying to make my own!
Welcome to FE Society, Jason!

Rob here,
I am from southern Alberta, Canada about an hour south of Calgary on the edge of the porcupine hills. I have spent my adult life working as a mechanic in the oilfield and have been working the last 16 years at fly in camp locations in the far north of Alberta. I have been married to my wife coming up on 14 years now and have a 12 year old daughter. I spend my off time looking after our horses, building rifles (mostly precision type builds) and doing as much shooting, fishing and hunting as I can make time for. Spend alot of my hunting seasons targeting the non existent 200" mule deer in my neighbourhood and upland birds. As for fishing my 2 target species are generally walleye and trout. Always up for a gopher safari as well!View attachment 173 . View attachment 172
Welcome to FE Society, Rob. Looks like that Armageddon Gear Squishy rear bag does the trick for gophers!

Dave,

Here's a potential small world random moment, the family business I was involved in until retirement in 2016 was called Specialty Silicone Fabricators. My dad was a founding partner, and me and all my brothers worked for him for years. Were you involved in anything to do with silicone rubber? Were you based in MN? If so, you may know 2 of my brothers - Paul & Ray.

Hey John,

Short answer - no and no.

As I'm sure you know, Medtronic is a big company, a multinational conglomerate... I was in a startup company based in Los Angeles and later acquired by Medtronic. Our non-invasive GI diagnostic devices were covered in Thermoplastic Elastomers, mitigating most anaphylactic potential reactions.

Nice spotted hyena by the way - which country? I killed three in Namibia on a problem animal permit. Horrendously, bad smelling creatures.

Well, damn! Always worth a shot. Sounds like some very cool thermoplastic tech you were involved in.
The Hyena was in Limpopo, South Africa last June. My favorite African animal. Surprisingly, this female did not smell bad at all - but they usually are quite rank, as you know!

I’m getting into hoof trimming, so let me know if you ever need a hand.
My father in law did hoof trimming for years. He fabricated the machine he used to trim them shown on the metal print below. The cows would walk in, he would flip them on their side with a hydraulic tilt on the machine, trim their hooves and send them on their way. He just sold his machine a few years ago.

A whole new (and seemingly respectable) meaning to cow tipping.

Buddy, your father is royalty in my world

Hi all, I'm Ryan, and I figured I'd introduce myself. Currently based in Idaho. Outside of work, I dabble in a lot of things but the biggest are falconry, wildlife photography, and travel.
