I guess it’s all about perspective. Nebraska is one of my favorite places on earth. I was born there but my parents were the ones that moved away for some bigger better life. The rest of the family, aunts, uncles, and cousins all remained. I visited every summer. I’ve been jealous my whole life they got to grow up and live there. The small towns like Arthur, Wallace, Ogallala, are a world away from my home in Texas. Ole’s Big Game Steakhouse in Paxton. Lake McNoughay, the sandhills, Valentino’s pizza, Runzas, Husker Football at Memorial Stadium, fall festivals, veterans days, 4th of July parades, even funerals, there is something unique and wonderful about these small communities.

Anyways, Texan now for 50 years. Married a Texas girl. My kids and grandkids are all Texans. I’ll probably die and be buried here. But to be in Nebraska…

Ok now you are bringing back good memories. Used to eat at Ole's regularly (there was a guy that was FE before Fe) and did lots of fishing on lake Ogallala. No I have had some wonderful times in NE, I just got tired of Sidney, but the rest of the state is pretty magical.

I think as long as we can keep most of the visitors on the I80 corridor, we've got a fighting chance of keeping it magical. Omaha is getting a little weird in places...Lincoln always has been.... haha Hope you are well, it's been a minute...or two...

Late to the party, but I’m in Lincoln. Grew up in Kansas. Not a big difference, just less meth in Nebraska.
