The thing about gear Q&A is when someone asks a question, we answer it honestly. If you don’t like the answer, fine, but it’s the truth. Everyone is posting their version of what they think has just happened with the brand, but we know the truth of it. A large group of hunters bought the brand (from a private equity group) as a long term investment. That’s the truth. It’s the best thing that could’ve happened.
I agree if it's a group of hunters taking it from PE. Have seen PE degrade so many companies and markets.

I’m 99% close to buying a Q Fix, and pairing it with a second barrel that I can swap for different uses. I plan on shooting both subs and supers, depending on what i’m hunting.

Though, i’m stuck on choosing a between a 12” or 16” length for 8.6blk. Does the 4 inches effect performance that much? Pros/Cons? Thanks
I’m in the same boat…. I asked uncle T about it. His response: “the 8.6 is optimized with the 12” barrel for sub and super loads”. The 8” would be awesome though to carry through the thick shit.

The 4” is going to give you a little more velocity for supers, but not a tremendous amount. As a con, the 12” brings you into NFA territory. Not the issue it used to be with $0 ‘stamps’ beginning 1/1, but still have the paperwork and wait time.

I personally have a 16” Fix w/6.5 CM barrel and I bought a 16” 8.6 barrel that I took on my first trip to Africa for plains game. I hunted the entire trip with the 16” barrel and the full size Porq Chop silencer. Farthest shot in that configuration was 425 yards on a Kudu. It was still super easy getting in and out of the Land Cruiser with a 16” barrel plus ~8” of silencer (thank you folding stock).

I put the 16” 6.5CM barrel back on and took this rifle to the FE x Precision Collective Long Range Shooting School and Prairie Dog hunt this past August. With match grade Winchester ammo, was hitting steel silhouettes easily at ~1,070 yards shooting off a pack.

If I didn’t already have a Fix and didn’t have the NFA considerations at the time (and need a new handguard), I would have gone with at 12” 8.6 barreled Fix.

Hope this helps.

Y'all gonna re-stock the Leupold Bridger?

p.s. if this was asked or stated elsewhere - I'll take a lap.
But, a short one - I don't have instagram so I struggle keeping up with shit, unless it's reposted on the website LOL.

Any shot at getting a pair of FE Vellies in a size 13 or 14? The only size in stock on the website is a 9. I would be willing to do laps in them and pay for them. Win-Win.

Edit: there are apparently none in any size in stock. I may need to modify my offer to pay for the boots and negotiate laps down to a lap.

I wouldn’t rule it out for the future. No guarantees on timeline but we will absolutely be working with Jim Green in the future for restocks and some new models.

@cody.rowe15

My $.02 worth:

I would go 12 inch on the 8.6 barrel, steel given the twist rate.

I would go 16” with a Proof Research for .308, which means a longer hand guard.

I would go 20” with a Proof Research for 6.5CM, and keep the same hand guard as the 16”.

From personal experience the barrel swap is dead nuts easy, and it’s a fantastic platform - the above choices are what I have done, except in 8.6 given state law I had to do 16”.

Yes. Did I *need* another pair of glasses? No, but those are an incredible addition to anybodies SunGlass hut. Love em.

I read @Jason Vincent review on the RXM and was impressed. I wanted to know how the rest of the FE staff feels about the gun and what is the current round count that has been shot through it.
I’m only around 500rds or so through mine so it’s just now being broken in. It’s just kind of boringly reliable. Nothing super special other than it just works and it’s a suitable alternative to a G19. It’s kind of the perfect loaner gun, glove compartment gun, bathroom gun, etc.
