My at home go to is either a smoked Old Fashioned or a Sapphire martini with a sniff of scotch instead of vermouth.

Out for dinner it's either an Old Fashioned or some form of margarita. Here in San Diego, we have a lot of restaurants with really good margaritas

I can dig a perfect Manhattan. 2 measures of bourbon, 1 measure each of sweet & dry Vermouth, orange rind, a couple of Luxardo cherries. Preferred over a large block of ice. Good bourbon or Scotch on the rock(s) will also work very well.

There's a great little Cantina, in La Jolla, I think . . . Called "Jose's Courtroom" - try it out if you haven't.

I've been to Jose's many, many times. One of my college roommates was a waitress there when I worked at the Chart House up the street. I'd go there for drinks after work. I haven't been in a while though, maybe I need to stop in again...

Pink gin- top shelf gin, 6 dashes of rail bitters, splash of tonic. Slice of lemon or lime (I’m not picky). All over ice.

I'm notorious for saying surprise me, and giving some small parameters depending on mood. Last time, it didn't disappoint, I'll drop the recipe below:

Barracuda

Corazon Tequila, Illegal Mezcal, Rich Syrup, Pineapple Juice, Lime, Absinthe Spritz

Typically an old fashioned or a Negroni, but a new one I was turned on to is a boulevardier; basically a Negroni with the gin replaced by boirbon
