Steak 44 in Scottsdale steak
St. Elmo Indianapolis for steak (and best shrimp cocktail ive ever had)
Delfrisco double eagle denver
Dunnraven Estes Park homemade Italian

21 Club in NYC - now closed due to the China virus, but the history and stories from this place are as great as the steak was (@Dave Eder any stories from this spot?).

Ken Sushi, Amsterdam - 10+ course Omakase sushi experience. Only two seating's a night and 16 people per seating. They way the chef articulates what and why goes into each piece is an art of its own. Something like $80/person, and if the place was in the US it would likely be $350+

La Giostra, Florence IT - Incredible steaks - the famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina, extensive Italian wine list, great service

Beluga in Cape Town, SA

Casa Botin in Madrid, Spain

Every restaurant in Greve in Chianti, Italy

Christner’s (one of the OG Del Frisco’s locations) in Orlando, FL

Taco Mich in Enterprise, AL

Pan & Vino, Orta San Giulio, Italy. Just drool.
Vecchia Capronna. HOLY AMAZING little osteria tucked into the most unsuspecting countryside village in northern italy.
Da Riccardo, in Hotel San Lorenzo. Bormio, Valtellina, Italy
Rooftop Brooklands Lounge, Peninsula Hotel, London.
Any street cafe in Athens, Greece. Seriously.
Marc Fosh, Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Cafe Schwarzenberg, Vienna. The best comfort food to this german-blooded american.
Cafe Sperl, Vienna. Get the torte.
Cafe Mozart, Vienna. Check it off the list.

In the States: Lucien and Il Buco — both in NYC.

PAN & VINO, ORTA SAN GIULIO:

2016 - 2017 I went to the 21 Club every Thursday with my boss for dinner and drinks. It was one of my favorite places to get a night cap too. Fond memories of my formative years in NYC working the corporate grind.

The Polo Bar (New York, NY) - my wife and I had our wedding party here. It's our spot in the city. It is the most perfect restaurant. Super biased obviously.

Michael's Genuine (Miami, FL) - sit at the bar, there's a bartender named Jake. He's got crazy eyes and a distinct voice - from North Carolina. He will take care of you.

Billy Can Can (Dallas, TX) - consistently good, great menu. Excellent bar.

Blackbird (Bozeman, MT) - feels like this might be a direct result of the Bozeangeles effect, but the food is excellent. I like to roll up, smelly and having spent 7+ days in the backcountry and eat a pizza + steak at the bar by myself.

The Tower Bar (Sunset Tower Hotel, Los Angeles, CA) - my wife and I met in LA, we polished off way too much bourbon together. And make a point to visit every year. Straightforward American cuisine, excellent cocktails, great wine list, unpretentious straight forward American food.

Tonnarello Scala (Rome, Italy) - not fancy, not pretentious, straight forward Roman food tucked in a little neighborhood called Trastevere across the Tiber, which means it's harder to get to from central Rome, so it's not as obnoxious from a tourist POV (fucking cell phones and instagram and tik tok idiots)

Believe it or not my favorite thing at Blackbird is the kale salad. Everything is great but that salad hits.

I’m a big fan of Iowa for some weird reason. If you’re ever in Des Moines, try Zombie Burger & Shake
LOL, there was a waxing place across the street from Zombie Burger called the "Pink Beaver" about 10 years ago, not sure if it is still there, tried to get my wife a t-shirt, no bueno. I can't find the damn picture I took.

edit to add: found it

Yet another reason why this state must be studied

Doe’s steakhouses in Arkansas.

They have a location in Fort Smith that’s a little fancy. This one is good food but it’s a little too fancy for me.

The Little Rock location is the spot. Checkered plastic picnic table covers on the tables. The steaks are crazy good. You walk through the kitchen to get to your table.
The original in Greenville, MS is worth a stop. You walk in through the kitchen.

Tamales and steak are fantastic!

I'll second Javier's here in my backyard. Solid dude and food never disappoints. One of my favorite hidden gems still has to be Trattoria 4 Leoni in Florence.
Bel & The Dragon in Churt is another spot well worth it

The Canlis is tops in the Seattle area for sure.. I also like the Metropolitan Grill in Seattle, it doesn't share the views, but as a steak and bourbon place it's tops!

Next would be Flora Farms norrh of Cabo San Lucas

And Estels by the Sea in San Pedro, Belize is the best breakfast nook in Central America!

Bones - Atlanta (best steak in town)
Optimist - Atlanta (seafood and on the list because my 9 years olds got a special dish from the chef and kitchen tour after staff saw them slurping oysters out of the shell)
Community Brew & Tap - Cornelia, GA (fantastic steak 90 minutes outside of Atlanta)
