FE Society: Hot Takes

We've been at this Society thing for a couple months now and I'm curious — what are your thoughts so far? What do you love? What do you want to see more of? Where are we missing an opportunity? What would you tell a buddy who asks what FE Society is?

Can FE Society members get some notification for drops. For example, I was looking for the Sangin watch but I never heard anything about it.

Did anyone hear about the Sangin drop? Maybe the watch hasn't dropped, yet.

Anyway, if JV could let us Society members know when there is a drop, that'd be great. Mainly, watches.

I'll check again but I haven't seen anything about the new Sangin x FE watch.

That'd be too easy. I say bury the drop, and watch the malcontents drive JV's blood pressure through the roof.

I like this forum. It's been good to learn from a lot of the members and interact with the FE crew as well. I'm happy to be here and I try to share all the good things that hunting/shooting/adventuring have brought to my little corner of the world as well. I think it's a pretty solid set up.

I like it. It’s like a curated Reddit/Facebook with likeminded folk. If I wasn’t already, I’m probably on some domestic terrorist list now for sure .

The society is great, the old school forum design is fitting and we all didnt have to download another app ! There's a ton of topics here and all the folks ive talked to are great.

I think the forum has been neat, its nice to be able to speak with the team and like minded individuals, I am well aware that I am on the younger end of the society age spectrum so I enjoy all the advice from the @Godfather as well as being able to see things to add to my aspirations of adventure.

This place has generated such engagement amongst so many likeminded folks. I've gotten a ton of inspiration and laughter from the forums. Reading stories from other people's lives is always fascinating and there's a lot of things to learn by reading topics I may not be familiar with. I'm quite impressed how this has turned out thus far and I really appreciate all the work the FE staff has done to get this community in motion.

I've had other people ask me what Society is since I keep checking it throughout the work day and assuming they're not someone I want to hunt for sport I usually say the same thing. I mean to say, "Gear, watches, clothes, cars, and adventure are just the start. It's where a lot of people with the same or similar perspectives on life exchange experience and interest." But end up saying, "This stuff will make you a god damned sexual Tyrannosaurus, just like me." It usually weeds out the losers.

Keep it up!

Done right: Opening this can of beautiful worms. When you ask for our advice on content/clothing/collabs and THEN include us on the buy.....Holy wow, and Thank You for the unapologetic allowances per prayer and spirituality and God.

Done wrong: I don't think there's any wrong, that we feral relics of the 70s and 80s don't see as glorious imperfections.

Do Better: Just stay the course of goals already set. Your Team seems to be in tune with being reasonable and professional while having a great time. IMHO, having met none of the Staff YET, and only hearing 2nd hand from people in the shoot/hunt/guns "industry" (Sundles) FE is the underground Way.

Pass down: I literally just give my old issues away to guys, and wait for their feedback, plant the seeds with a little water. Been a hard copy Sub since way back because Don Jr was mentioned in the MSM somewhere as a safari brat, so naturally I just was attracted.

Been a long week but energizing week - I wore the Believe hat on stage at our kick off and associated events in Nashville this week a few times and based upon all the inquires, I’d be shocked if they don’t sell out like an FE/Sangin collab.

Agreed, so far looks great!

I do like the idea of a thread that consolidates current and upcoming collaborations, what's in the pipeline, suggestions, etc. (to the extent they can be disclosed).

And perhaps that early warning or possibly even an early period open to FE Society members.

I am in for the time being, I have participated on some larger forums and good moderation is important, if the ban hammer gets used, folks should know why, I have met lots of great folks in person after meeting them on a forum, looking forward to fall when folks start hunting local. Not hard to figure out who I am or what I do, but some anonymity on the interwebs is not a bad thing. Glad to see some lady's participating

I’d say, this FE society is perfect. It’s just low key enough. Yet has a great following of like minded people. I never would have known had I not bought a previous issue and was reading to find a QR code. That’s just neat to see. Maybe a proper application at some point. Although that costs scratch .
