Every season has a few moments worth freezing in time. The sunrise before the shot, the campfire after, or the quiet in between.

Post your favorite photo from this season.
Could be from a hunt, a trip, or a day that just hit right.

Keep it real, keep it yours, and tell us what was happening when you took it.

Down at my best friend’s ranch in London, Texas. 5 of my best friends from college and myself have two annual trips we take down there. The first is the Friday - Tuesday the week of Thanksgiving. The second is the 27th - 30th of December. We live all over the country now and are in our mid 20’s but make an effort to get together at least twice a year. This was from thanksgiving when my buddy and I went on a night hunt with thermals at about 3am.

My boy, Archie, pointing his first wild SC bird, a Woodcock, barely visible in the lower left corner.

Laps ready because to many epic hunts to just post one so where do I begin!? This year will be hard to top for me. Started the year off chasing turkeys where it all begun for me serval years earlier, was able to knock on some doors and acquire permission which landed me a dandy of a longbeard. Fast forward a few months and I hopped on a plane and headed to the dark continent where I spent 2 weeks and harvested 15 animals. Came back home and made my way to NM for my annual pronghorn hunt with my uncle, made a good stalk on and took a 300 yard poke for goat anyone would be proud of. Ended up working a shutdown at work and on my 1 day off was able to tag 2 gators (being sent to Tenton leather). Made my way back to NM this time for mule deer and passed on a droptine buck to take an old roman nose forky. Found my self in a high fence hunting blackbuck which I thought would be a ca hunt. I was wrong… hardest hunting of the year but got a good one! Sat in the stand with my 3 year old and on our second hunt was able to take a cull buck. Then ended the year with thermal hunting a low fence ranch in the hill country and was able to take a nice old red stag. I look forward to 2026 and all that it has to offer. My 9 year old shot her first deer this fall, less than 30 minutes into opening day. She passed on a forkie that walked by about 15 minutes earlier, and we spotted something moving in the cedars up the ridge. She set up on the shooting sticks in case it was something she wanted to take a crack at.
As he cleared the last cedar tree into an opening at 30 yards, her glasses fogged up and she had a moment of panic. By the time she got her glasses off and looked back down the scope he was behind a cluster of trees. She pulled up, repositioned to look out a different window in the blind, and waited for him to move. This time he stepped into the clearing at 22 yards and she settled the crosshairs behind his shoulder. Took a deep breath, clicked off the safety, squeezed the trigger, and dropped him…spine shot because of a flinch. Before I could even say the words, she ran the bolt, lined back up, and put one in the vitals to end his misery.
Eventually she’ll learn that it’s not always this quick or easy to put a nice buck in the back of the truck. But that’ll be a lesson for another season.
