What's the Best Shotgun / Ammo combo for Duck Hunting a Corn Field in Bridgehampton? And how do Mojo Decoys taste

For Phil's Mojo's I prefer a dangerous game set up that shoots Nitro Express rounds

Thoughts on Kuiu selling out?
As a Kuiu customer from the first early days the second recent buyout is concerning. Already the catalog has gone from 20 top end options for mountain hunting to countless versions and colors of various qualities. Already they have changed their return policy and are much tougher on warranty returns for damaged equipment. Unfortunately I think its time to find a small independent shop to patronize.

I agree with you.

In the end I don’t blame the family or the employees, especially given the way Jason went out. He had a vision, and was driven to keep it pure and true to what he knew Sitka could never be. In the old days I would bring in horribly damaged gear due to my own gross negligence and he would replace it, but only after attentively listening to the full story of my dumb fuckery. Unfortunately Kuiu has taken a very similar trajectory to Sitka in recent years with a similar outcome. Such is capitalism and I hope the family and loyal employees get a good payout. Time to find the next Kuiu.

Says the man cashing their advertising checks
The thing about gear Q&A is when someone asks a question, we answer it honestly. If you don’t like the answer, fine, but it’s the truth. Everyone is posting their version of what they think has just happened with the brand, but we know the truth of it. A large group of hunters bought the brand (from a private equity group) as a long term investment. That’s the truth. It’s the best thing that could’ve happened.

Every man at FE knows we're not the end-all in any given field, but we have enough experience in global adventuring to field gear questions for almost any sporting or travel scenario. Ask away.
I’m 99% close to buying a Q Fix, and pairing it with a second barrel that I can swap for different uses. I plan on shooting both subs and supers, depending on what i’m hunting.

Though, i’m stuck on choosing a between a 12” or 16” length for 8.6blk. Does the 4 inches effect performance that much? Pros/Cons? Thanks

I would definitely go with 12”. Personally I have my 8.6 Fix at 8”.

@Jason Vincent what’s your go-to carry gun these days?
My favorite right now is still the ported Hellcat Pro, but I left that in Texas so I don’t have to check a gun each time I’m there. I need another one. Lately I’ve been carrying:
•Glock 43x with COA Aimpoint, Radian RamJet and Radian Magwell in a Blackpoint holster. Black Hills Honeybadger ammo.
•Smith & Wesson 340 M&P in the FE Ghost holster with, oddly, Black Hills .38 Wadcutters.
•Sig Sauer P210 Carry (discontinued) in a Blackpoint holster with Black Hills Honeybadgers.

That’s the rotation these days.

@Jason Vincent Should I buy a brand new Tudor pelagos OR save up a few more bucks and go for a used submariner? I feel like a year ago I could have got a great sub within the $10k range but you can’t find one for under $12-$13k anymore. Fuckers
This is a really good question. The Pelagos is one of my all time favorites, and so is the Submariner. If the Rolex is your favorite, make that your first purchase. You won’t be happy with the Pelagos until you already own your favorite watch. You’ll end up buying the Pelagos later, and you won’t look at it as a lessor watch. It’ll be your second favorite and the one you put on when you just want a change from the Sub.

Big difference between “selling” and “selling out”.
Chiming in from the cheap seats… how much does the camo matter? I’ve seen beasts killed in washed out 20 year old real tree, I saw a guy kill three deer in a day after hot boxing a trainer with cigar smoke with his clothes in the back bedroom. Elmer Fud wore a red and black jacket for a reason, that’s what dudes wore back in the day and they were still putting em down. Build quality I get, but as a former rock climber and an amateur mountaineer I can attest to a ton of brands making bomb proof clothing. Get creative and you can kit out in anything. That said, Sitka is still for twats.

That last sentence got me.
