I do think the only time OTFs make sense are if you’re doing a double edge. Hard to beat them for style points too. Both are great find it like folders for everyday as they are a little more stout when working. I ise the OTF for dress or going in to town when I got to. Also realizing i need to branch out some more for my knives a little.

That was a gift from one of my original industry mentors, Eric Bryant. It’s a MercWerx Saevus. The company was years ahead of its time for a lot of their designs and materials (S30V with carbon fiber inserts on the handle). This is still one of the best built autos I’ve ever owned. What’s that second knife down, Ron? I like the shape of that blade.
That's very true I love dirac delta I have. Part of owning them is always the looking cool while having it. LolI do think the only time OTFs make sense are if you’re doing a double edge. Hard to beat them for style points too.
Ah, I see you are a fan of smaller knives.Depends on the task for me. I prefer an OTS (out the side) auto for most normal EDC tasks. They’re generally pretty easy to deploy and re-stow once done. But I like a strong-firing single-action OTF if I’m carrying it for defense.

Yeah, I find the HALO V and VI models to be a bit big for the pocket. For anything going in my pocket, I try to keep it 3.5” or thereabouts. I don’t want anyone to think I’m compensating for anything if I whip one out.Ah, I see you are a fan of smaller knives.
You might want to check out the Hogue autos. They are over built like the Presido and I have found that they aren’t as sensitive to maintenance and debris like some other autos.I get benchmades issued from work so my go to OTF is the infidel, however I only really carry it for style points, it’s more of an expensive package opener. For my daily carry at work I usually have the auto presido ii. It isn’t my favorite knife, but it is bomb proof and gets the job done. I carried the auto Stryker for a while but it isn’t nearly as tough. I’m swapping it out for an Emerson commander soon though. With how dirty my knives get I’ve had issues with autos so I want a reliable manual knife for my daily tasks.
They’re definitely on my radar. Just gotta convince my supply guy to stray from benchmade haha. I think the infidel had been extra sensitive to debris. I don’t take it into the field, more of an urban carry. But the blade has a lot of deployment and retraction issues after 4 years. It’s actually with benchmade for a tune up now.You might want to check out the Hogue autos. The Hogue OTFs are good but I was really referring to their auto folders. Those are quite exceptional. They’re definitely on my radar. Just gotta convince my supply guy to stray from benchmade haha. I’ve carried off and on one of the full size Doug Ritter RSK folders from back when Benchmade made them. Actually just bought one of the new ones from Hogue for my brother-in-law for Christmas. It’s a SOLID working knife. The auto version of it has been mighty tempting as of late. The Hogue OTFs are good but I was really referring to their auto folders. Those are quite exceptional.
Oh, badass. I’ll definitely check them out.The Hogue OTFs are good but I was really referring to their auto folders. Those are quite exceptional.
