not really he had this and a Randall that he lost in a campfire in the 70's recovered and then had a rattle snake head shaped handle put on it, I didn't get that one, I wish I did its the tackiest Randall in existence.
Guns however yes he was a big time collector, he had 12 safes in his house with one for 22lr, on for revolvers, one just with M1 Garands, he was the president of the safari club of Chattanooga and shot trap and skeet in the Senior Olympics, everyone called him Hoot and indeed he was.

Sounds like a legend of a guy!

Rare only in the sense that it's unique. I had a Finnish coworker, who enjoyed hunting, the outdoors etc and got into knife making. He gifted me one.

I have one of that blade design. Best hunting knife I have used. It has processed an elk and a lot of hogs and deer. Probably 50 yrs old at this point!

Maybe not rare now but reckon they will be. Snagged these Larue S30V Battle Knives awhile back. One for me and one for my son albeit he will have to wait awhile since he’s only 5. This is Marks play on MSG Robert Horrigans design. It’s a lot of knife for sure. Funny thing was since I live about 5 miles from his shop he had an employee hand deliver it one Friday afternoon to make sure i had it before father’s day that coming Sunday. I was already pretty loyal to the brand but that solidified it. I had CrankyTexan Holsters make a couple matching kydex sheaths as well. View attachment 2964

I’m sure more get used that I would expect. I frankly don’t have a great use for such a stabby fighter. I bought mine strictly because who made and designed it and it looked cool as fuck

I never found a practical purpose for the Cuda Maxx 5.5, but it is a fun collector piece and there don't seem to be too many floating around in the wild.

Camillus makes some of my favorite looking knives. They're the brand that got me into Tanto blades.

I got a Cuda Dominator around the same time that I got the pictured knife, it was smaller and a great EDC. That era of Camillus was def cool in general. I am a fan of tanto blades as well, but I have to give credit to Lynn Thompson for getting me to think more deeply on the tanto blade shape. The OLD Cold Steel Voyager 4" with the tanto blade is probably my all time favorite everyday/beater pocket knife.

I have a shitload of knives, most of which are not rare, unless they got rare simply by being discontinued. I do have a Camillus Becker Companion BK-2, new in the box. These are rare since Kabar took over the production of this knife in 2008 or so after Camillus went belly-up.
I also have my first Benchmade, a 530 Mel Pardue Design. In hindsight, it was a cool knife, but a stupid choice. It's one of the least practical designs unless you want a folding back-up knife specifically for stabbing.

I also have my first Benchmade, a 530 Mel Pardue Design. In hindsight, it was a cool knife, but a stupid choice. It's one of the least practical designs unless you want a folding back-up knife specifically for stabbing.

That 530 is a really slick knife. It’s great for a ultralight jogging knife.

I disagree that it was a stupid choice on the 530. I have a 530 in my rotation, it's been there for a long damn time. It opens boxes & letters and cuts shrink wrap and nylon banding just as well as my other regulars - 485, 580, and 940....plus, it's stabby looking. Up to the Bugout, I believe the 530 was just about the lightest yet functional and decent quality option on the market without going full custom. I have never been a huge fan of Benchmade in general, but I like practical/functional tools and ended up owning a pile of them among others...

I’m with @Steve Johnson on this one. That’s a good knife to have in the drawer.
