This got out of hand in a hurry. But I’ll stay with the thread as I’m learning much on all the back and forth, and I applaud the lack of anger.
My wildly under informed and by fefinition less “Cooper above all” view, huge respect to you all who have more knowledge and time on topic, would have been (prior to this):
Under 7.25 lbs, points for anyone landing it close to 6.5
Magazine fed
Bolt action
Under 39 inches, points for shorter
16 inch barrel ideally, lose points for longer
.308 as a standard, but points for different with one hell of an argument
Hard sights have to be present
Bi-pod attached or quick detach
Top rail with an optic - I would have opted for an LPVO that could also double as a red dot, weight gets impaired if you did an extra red dot but it would look cool - points for more forward mounted
Low point category, but all muted in orientation, nothing flashy
