Love SBR's. They've come a long way from back in the 80's when I was a jarhead carrying a Colt M4. I kept using the M-4 platform throughout my SWAT career. Our sniper rifles were even 16-inch Tikka T3X Tact A1's in 7.62... When I retired the SWAT Team presented me with an engraved gold cerakoted 9mm SBR in lieu of a gold watch, lol! I have to say that gold SBR they presented me with has to be my favorite. All it represents, the memories, the missions, the teammates...

Ok, wow, I got most of them here!
Photo 1, the newest from Gunwerks. The TAF (tiny as fuck) 11.25” barrel 6mm ARC, 6ix+ steel Gunwerks can. It’s on order, being built.
Photo 2, FN PS-90, AAC 5.56mm can.
Photo 3, H&K SP-5K, Q Erect9r can.
Photo 4, Glock 34, B&T chassis, SilencerCo Osprey-9.
Photo 5, Gunwerks (Skunkwerks) BlastR, 12.5” 6.5 Creedmoor, Gunwerks 8ight steel can. This was my introduction to Gunwerks.
Photo 6, Q Boombox, 8.6BLK, 12”. I run this with their “Prototype” 8.6 can.
Photo 7, Q Honey Badger, 300 BLK. 7” barrel, Trash Panda can. My truck gun.
Photo 8, Q The Fix, 8.6BLK, 12” barrel this kit was number 50 of the first 50 Q released. I run this with their “Prototype” can as well.

What wonderous variety.

Great momento to receive for your time and service. Great photos.

Love this thread. Looking at picking up my first SBR and not sure which one to run with? Build my own? Daniel Defense, Smith & Wesson and Springfield SBRs were all at the local gun shop, but too many options. I like aero but not sure they have an SBR?

Any input or suggestions?

First thing I’d ask is why (what purpose) for which you want to build the SBR?

S&W and Springfield are great options at a lower price point. DD is at a higher price point. Depending on your anticipated use and your budget, we can help guide you. We can talk through barrel lengths, calibers, accessories, style, etc.

Building your own can be a lot of fun but I also like a well-made factory SBR if I’m going to trust my life to it.

Would put a suppressor in it too. I built all my current AR’s so this might make sense to go Factory.

Thinking 556, 10.5” but not sure if any of the other barrel lengths are better for this set up.
